What is the Career Integration Conference?
The Career Integration Conference brings international educators, career service professionals, recruiters, and industry leaders together to examine the intersections of study abroad and career planning. The theme of the 2018 conference, “Leveraging Partnerships,” examines how connections between study abroad and career services professionals can be maximized to help students find success in the job market. Drawing on the location of Washington, DC, effective partnerships with employers in the government and non-profit organizations will also be highlighted.
2018 Conference Hosts
“What’s exciting about the Career Integration Conference is that it brings together stakeholders who might not normally work together to engage in a focused discussion. We were so pleased to co-host the conference in Washington, DC in 2018. There is no better time or place to talk about leveraging partnerships to support study abroad students in their professional journeys.”
Mark S. Lenhart, Executive Director
CET Academic Programs
“The Career Integration Conference was initially conceived as a one-time event. But the response from attendees confirmed that it was only the beginning of a critical conversation. The 2014 and 2016 conferences continue to yield research and scholarship focused on the praxis of career development pedagogy in education abroad. The opportunity to co-host the conference in Washington, DC has fostered opportunities for participation from new stakeholders in the government and non-profit sectors, and allowed us to consider education abroad as a national imperative. “
